This is a *Bristol* Hybrid based role with an excellent immediate start within a Public Sector organisation working on. *Overseeing Hard and Soft FM services, with a primary focus on Hard FM.*
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of facilities and estates services across a complex operational estate in London. The role has a strong focus on Hard Facilities Management, overseeing FM contractors responsible for maintenance and day-to-day services. You will monitor contractor performance, validate completed works, manage operational issues and work closely with senior stakeholders and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Hard and Soft FM services, with a primary focus on Hard FM.
- Manage FM contractors delivering day-to-day maintenance and facilities services.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, safety and service delivery.
- Validate completed works and undertake audits of maintenance activities.
- Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers and operational stakeholders.
- Identify estates and maintenance issues and ensure appropriate remedial action.
- Manage reactive maintenance budgets and planned maintenance activities.
- Oversee facilities and estates-related project works.
- Support funding requests and business cases for required works.
- Attend regular operational stakeholder meetings.
- Review technical specifications and relevant safety documentation.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, effectively and to required standards.
Essential Experience
- Strong Facilities Management/Estates Management experience.
- Strong Hard FM/technical maintenance background.
- Experience managing and overseeing external FM contractors.
- Good technical understanding of building and facilities maintenance.
- Contractor performance management, auditing and work validation experience.
- Reactive and planned maintenance experience.
- Budget management experience.
- Experience overseeing FM, maintenance or estates projects.
- Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and operational management skills.
Desirable
Experience within a large, complex or secure estate, particularly government, justice, defence, healthcare, infrastructure or another public-sector environment, would be highly beneficial.
