Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Operations & Logistics Manager to manage and coordinate complex operational activities across multiple locations, including overseas environments.

The role will involve renewing and overseeing project plans, coordinating operational activity and ensuring the required personnel, equipment and logistical support are in place for planned operations.

This would suit someone who has experience managing complex, high-risk or geographically dispersed operations, with a strong background in senior-level coordination, logistics, cargo/freight and operational planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee complex operational activities from planning through to delivery.
  • Review, renew and maintain project and operational plans.
  • Coordinate operations taking place across the UK and overseas locations.
  • Plan and manage the movement of equipment, personnel, cargo and freight to operational locations.
  • Coordinate complex logistics in challenging environments, including remote and difficult-to-access locations.
  • Support planning for live operational activities, ensuring all logistical requirements are understood and delivered.
  • Coordinate specialist requirements such as training, equipment transportation and local logistical arrangements.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure operational plans are achievable and delivered effectively.
  • Identify and resolve logistical and operational issues independently.
  • Adapt plans quickly when operational requirements change.
  • Provide operational oversight and maintain clear communication across multiple workstreams.
  • Attend face-to-face workshops and meetings at Abbey Wood, Bristol, when required.
  • Take on additional operational management responsibilities across related workstreams when required.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy, managing priorities without close supervision.

The role is predominantly remote, with attendance at Abbey Wood required according to operational requirements. This could involve several days on site during particularly busy periods, followed by periods where no on-site attendance is required.

There will also be face-to-face workshops and meetings that the successful candidate will be expected to attend.
